Though not a knapped blade, the contact period produced many knives where metal blades were sold to Indians who made knives out of them. Many were made by fur trappers who traded them to the Indians during the contact period. This knife has a hand forged blade, curly ash handle, aged brass tacks, and an Iroquois effigy face on the handle butt. The blade is hafted with gut. I gave the knife a semi-aged look so that it will display well with artifacts or old guns or other fur trade era goods. These guys sell fast and are usually custom orders for me that never make it for sale to the general public.
