What can I say about this knife except WOW! This is one you have to see to believe! The handle is white Italian marble. The 'spikes' are snowflake obsidian, a natural volcanic glass, and the incredibly precision flaked blade is lace obsidian. As his wife, I can verify that he spent over three months, as time allowed in-between other work loads, putting this knife together. Hours and hours and hours of hand sanding on the handle alone! All of the blades are done using the Flake-Over-Grind method. I can also tell you that the inside of the curve on the blade was a real challenge for him to flake and make look right. He styled this knife after the knife in the Sylvester Stallone movie "Cobra". This is the first one he has ever made like this, and has not decided if there will ever be another.
Notice the way the flake scars on the blade curve opposite each other. Starting at either edge of the knife blade and looking toward the center you can see that the flake scars for an "S" across the whole surface of the blade, AND BOTH SIDES HAVE THE SAME PERFECT LOOK!
BLADE: 6&1/4 inches long from tip to haft area, and near 3 inches wide at the widest part!
HANDLE: 5&3/4 inches long and 2&7/8 inches wide WITHOUT the spikes on the bottom and end. If you include the spikes, the handle is 7 inches long and 4&1/8 inches wide! The grip hole in the center of the handle is 3&1/2 inches long and 1&1/8 inches wide.
NOTE---- this knife DOES have an incredibly beautiful stand with it, which was also completely made by Robert himself. The stand base is white Italian marble, and the pedestal which holds the knife suspended in the air by the inside of the handle grip, as well as the part which the blade rests in, are BOTH made of incredibly beautiful Zebra marble! WE WILL GET PICS OF THE STAND LISTED AS SOON AS WE POSSIBLY CAN. Thanks!
