A piece like this just can't be found out there for sale anywhere. Spontoons are rare artifacts, and it's hard to find any good replicas being made of them these days. The French traded these nasty guys to the Huron and Iroquois back in the day, and I wouldn't have wanted to be on the receiving end of one. The hand forged head is 9 inches long, and aged with a deep brownish/black patina. The curly maple handle was stained the tradional honey brown color and has a hand-rubbed finish. Decorated with over 50 brass tacks and a buffalo horn mouth piece, this is a striking piece. Don't let this one pass you buy. As you can see, I sell out of all my tomahawks pretty quickly.
