Knap-in Calendar

The 2024 Southern Indiana Flint Knap-in will be Father's day weekend from Friday to Sunday. It will be at the road side park off state road 62 east Leavenworth Indiana.The public is welcome. There will be flintknapping supplies, rocks, minerals, and carving stone for sale. Flintknappers from across the country will be there showing and selling their modern arrowheads and primitive artwork. Contact Eric Morris for more details.

The Bald Eagle Knap-in & Primitive Arts Festival will be held at Camp Anderson just a few miles off I-99 in Tyrone, PA. Primitive camping is free to participants (donations are appreciated). Bathroom and shower facilities are available. The World Atlatl Association will host competitions throughout the event and demonstrations Saturday at 11:00AM and 3:00PM. Vendors are welcomed and expected to make a donation to the 1PM Saturday auction.

Stone Tool Craftsman Show - Letchworth State Park, New York Traditionally held each year in August the weekend before Labor Day weekend. Friday August 23 10 AM - Sunday August 25, 2024 2 PM Highbanks Recreation Area Open to the public; food concessions and group camping available for the weekend. Join us for three days of fun, in the Oakland Mills Park, on the south shore campsite, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, 52641. The Knap-in has RV or camping sites available. You'll need to go online and make a reservation for your R.V. or camping site, at my country park.com, for Henry Country, on the south shore site, in the Oakland Mills Park. This event is hosted by the Center for American Archeology. We will provide materials and lessons in pressure flaking for any interested youth visitors to this event. Flintknapping demonstrations and tutorials, traditional bowmaking, atlatl range, other demonstrations of primitive skills, native plant walks all possible. Artifact identification with archaeologists from the IL State Archaeological Survey. Artifact Identification from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 12. Tent camping, fishing, hiking available at the 940 acre McCully Heritage Project. Showerhouse and restroom available on site. The McCully Heritage Project is a private non-profit environmental center located 1 mile south of Kampsville on Crawford Creek Road. This event is not for buying, selling or trading of relics. No local chert collections without property owner permission.
