Marquardt Lund
marquardt.lund@gmx.de I am 43 years old, married and have a daughter.
I studied archaeology, worked about a year at different digs, made a lot
experimental archaeology (mostly about projectile points, but with two
friends, I made a dugout with polished flintaxes and -adzes). Since 10
years, I'm working as a construction engineer for a big European building
company. I'm a self taught knapper and started at the age of 14 at the flint-rich
beaches of the Baltic sea near my home. About 7 years ago I stopped
flintknapping because of the birth of my daughter and lots of work.
Last summer I started again after a Holiday at the Dordogne where I loaded
our car with much super colored Bergerac Flint (I will touch that stuff
only when I recover my full ability again). I'm knapping traditional, which means for me that I use only antler flakers
and copper for pressure only at Neolithic pieces.
I worked the hardstone battle-axes with pecking and grinding, the longer one
took about 100 hours!
