I carved this early Woodlands Style tube pipe from mottled gray pipestone. The pipestone is unique in the fact that it has hard inclusions, evenly distributed with softer material. By removing some of the softer material from the surface of the stone, it gives this tube pipe a finish that looks like it is ancient, just unearthed.
