Ruby glass is usually formed using GOLD for the rich red color! This explains why it is not the most common color of glass to find for flintknapping. The translucency for this side notched arrowhead is beautiful, especially when back lit (the back lit photo I posted does not do justice for the brilliance of it in real life).
