Here is a Medicine Pipe or Double Ringed Tube Pipe. This style of biconical pipe was often used for healing by medicine men. I carved this pipe from a very dense steatite. There is a beautiful light crystalline vein that’s very unique in its symmetry. It makes a complete loop around the pipe. It begins on one bowl end of the pipe, runs diagonally across the two rings and when it almost reaches the bottom of the opposite bowl , it turns back, crossing the rings on the opposite side until it rests on the place in which it began. It can be seen always on every side while turning the pipe. The bowls and rings are very symmetrical. It is highly polished.
