I hate to work obsidian. I really do, but this piece of mahogany kept calling to me, and in the end I am glad I made this point. It is a thin wide point that just captures the spirit of the Snyders style point. There have been very few authentic Snyders points made from obsidian ever found, as the material had to be imported great distances to the Hopewell peoples of the Central Midwest. I would keep this point for myself but the wife says I have too many now and that this one needs to find a home where it will be enjoyed instead of being shoved away in a box somewhere. So... here it is, and once again thank you for looking. |
