This is a decent reproduction of a typical Plains 'T' pipe. It's made from some Pipestone from the quarries at the Pipestone National Monument in Southwest Minnesota.
The tapered stem is White Oak and 15" long by about 1 1/8" wide by 1/2" thick near the pipe end. The four grooves are supposed to represent the four winds or the cardinal points of the compass. The octagonal stem end, the tapered, slanted prow and the stack are all pretty common on these pipes.
This was a custom pipe and is sold. I would be happy to make another pipe similar to this one. |
