Here is a unique little item that I made just to see if it could be done. It consists of a traditionally knapped chert blade, and white tail deer antler handle. The hinge pin is also made out of deer antler as well. The handle and pin were hand shaped to ensure a good fit, and full opening and closing capability.
This knife would make and excellent conversation piece or look good in a collection of unique pieces. This knife is not intended for normal use, other than as a letter opener, due to the unknown strength of the antler hinge pin. |
