Dimensions: 33 1/2"
This replica Shasta-Rogue arrow is a compound or two part one with the main shaft being made of syringa and the inserted 5" fore shaft made of service berry. The point is a red jasper Gunther style and is glued into its nock, lashed with sinew and then coated with black pitch for waterproofing just like I've seen on old originals. Red earth ochre and black soot are used for paints. Canada goose feathers are used for fletchings and are lashed with sinew painted with red ochre paints and glued down with hide glue. The Takelma Shastan people of Southern OR were a tough bunch and made arrows very similar to those of their neighbors just to the south in CA such as the Karok and Wintu.
