This gorgeous Desert Side Notched Arrowhead was flaked from a piece of fused dichroic glass that I had previously created. The colors range from blue to green to a hint of purple, that is mottled with the black for a great look. Just like an opal, the true colors and attractive flash of "fire" in the dichroic glass are difficult to capture on film. The back side of the arrowhead is a solid glassy black giving it a natural obsidian like look. This also provides the opportunity for the necklace to be reversible with 2 different looks.
The arrowhead's edges have been subtly dulled for use as a pendant, and the 18 inch, oxidized, sterling silver, rope chain compliments the sterling silver wire wrapping on the point. After flintknapping this piece, I signed and dated it using a diamond tipped scribe.
