Modern Flintknapping

Bill is 77 years old and although he started beating on slate found in the woods near his home at 10 years of age, he considers his years of flintknapping at 56. He lives in NC.

He has underwent several surgeries on his hands and has lost most of the feeling in his hands.

He is best known for his thin pressure flaked pieces and edge to edge pressure flaking using a very large Ishi stick

He does percussion as well, using both moose and copper billets interchangeably depending on the platform that presents itself, averaging copper use at 75% of the time.

Bill has developed a pressure flaking jig which produces large wide flakes that have the appearance of percussion flakes. It will be stated in the description of any piece made using this technique.

We accept paypal, checks, and money orders.

Email me at dwayne@modern-flintknapping.com if you have any questions.

ALL PRICES INCLUDE priority shipping/insurance unless stated otherwise in the description of the piece. (except for international shipping which we would have to get shipping cost).

If you like the piece signed or diamond ascribed with Bill's mark "BE" please email me and let me know when you make the purchase. Otherwise most of these pieces are not signed.
